Our long experience constructing electric equipment, combined with intensive research, has enabled us to incorporate a few improvements in the development of the electric heat exchanger from the series X-EWT 2.0. We focused on making this a highly safe device with reduced vulnerability to its electric components, and still easy to use. The shell is pressure resistant and made of nonflammable plastic. It is therefore suitable as an electro technical product, ensuring safety and longevity. The device is wired as a compact system. The heating elements and the controller are separated through a “two chamber system”. This offers the advantage that if water or humidity penetrates into the first chamber (heating elements), the controller (second chamber) won’t be destroyed. The heating capacity is achieved solely through three high capacity-, one phase heating elements. The heating elements are made of highly corrosion resistant stainless steel, Incoloy 825 or titanium. They are cabled together to a three-phase heating element 400V. Three safety thermostats, set at 55°C, ensure the shutdown of the device if it is overheated. A safety thermostat and a pressure switch prevent the operation when there is a shortage of water. With sufficient water flow the electronic system switches on through the flow switch and controls and guards the whole system. Operation starts with a five-minute delay. The display on the control system shows the actual temperature. Also, the desired bathing water temperature can be set, and the temperature difference, which is factory-set at 0,5°C, can be changed. On the electric control system there is also an on/off switch and a green LED-lamp, which shows if the heating elements are operating. This is a compact, very versatile, electric heat exchanger and it can be operated as a mounted or a mobile device. It can be directly connected to the bathing water circuit through a PVC flange pipe DN 63 or through the bypass system.
